Area 47 Assemblies of God Church Youths Launches ‘This Jesus’ Project

The Malawi Assemblies of God church’s youth ministry from Area 47 Glorious Temple has launched ‘This Jesus’ project that will reach out to young people with a unified message on knowing and building personal relationships with Jesus Christ.

Launching the project on Saturday evening, Youth Director for the Area 47 Glorious Temple Pacharo Kayira said his youth ministry’s 2018 ‘This Jesus’ themed project which has been inspired by the biblical text from Acts 2 verse 36 will deeply focus on exalting name of Jesus among young people through promotion of four key pillars which are; One Heart, One Message, One Name and This Jesus.



“We are going to emphasise four things” Explained Kaira, “First thing is what we call One Heart. As youth group we are going to do everything with one heart that means unity and team work. Secondly we are going to have One Message as youth group, that message is about Jesus crucified and Jesus resurrected. Thirdly we are going to uplift One Name; not about ourselves, or how clever or good we are. Lastly we are going to talk about This Jesus; that One Name is This Jesus. So, that is what is all about.”

Then, Kaira shared that his youth ministry will use different ways including sports, music and many other things to reach out to their peers with the gospel of Jesus.

“What we want to do is to reach out to the youth primarily in Area 47. We are going to use several ways; we will be organising sports tournament because most Malawians and youths love sports. Not only that we will use music and many other activities to reach out to the youth with the gospel.” He indicted

From this project, Kaira said their youth ministry expects help a lot of people particularly young people know Jesus.

“We want to reach out to a lot of young people to let them know Jesus, to let them receive and experience Jesus. What we want is that people have a personal relationship with Jesus.” Said Kaira
Since 2012, the Area 47 Glorious Temple youth ministry has been implementing projects with the theme and activities for each calendar year.

During the launch of ‘This Jesus’ project, the ministry recognised the good achievements and improvements that some of its departments and individual members made in the year 2017 by presenting them with awards of excellence which were in three categories of; Innovation of Excellence, Departmental Excellence and Academic Excellence which went to Reinhard Peter who has been selected to study Metrology and Mineral Processing at the Polytechnic the constituent college of the University of Malawi (UNIMA).

The recipient of the Academic Excellence was selected from the scholarship program which began 5 years ago by the ministry. The beneficiaries of the program are the youth members of the ministry who are doing secondary school studies. Currently, there are 12 members who are receiving support from the progam.
