Remember

July 4, 2012 at 7:54am
The time I will not forget
When we cradled together
Like toddlers playing with mwantche
Along Mtoso river
As mpoloni shrubs
Like censers, breath out their smells
And the wind caressing our bodies
Drifting them way
With the flow of admiration

We could stay there all day long
Looking at a busy people a far
In Gomani village
Rushing for market day at Kamwendo
While you and me
Like angels who hardly work
Exchanged vows
Love words voweled with grease
Refreshing our hearts to virginity

"We will always be one body
Floating above anyone
And yet, without this river
Without the admiring sounds of the frogs
Without the praises of birds
But you and me
In our own world," you could say.
